meet the founder

welcome — i'm taylor, a licensed psychotherapist + board approved clinical supervisor in the state of Maryland, and founder of root + restore.

i attained a bachelor of science in psychology from syracuse university and a master of arts in clinical mental health counseling from trinity washington university. i have training in dialectical behavior therapy, somatic experiencing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and more. over the years, i’ve refined my clinical practice to specialize in working with women to navigate different areas of self-concept, body image, and anxiety. this often means that we explore relationships and connection, reflect on and observe patterns, and engage in a level of introspection to increase awareness.

my approach? it’s integrative, trauma-responsive, and grounded in a person-centered foundation — because you are the expert on your own life. our sessions are meant to feel real + human. we get comfy, we drop the pretenses, we laugh, we cry, we curse sometimes. we do the messy, beautiful work of healing together.

i strive to create a space that’s brave, not perfect — where your resilience is validated, your autonomy is honored, and your whole self is welcome. i’m deeply rooted in social justice and racial equity, and i believe that healing is both personal and collective. above all, i'm human, just like you.

whether you're seeking therapy, supervision, or simply a space to reconnect with yourself, you are welcomed to explore healing with curiosity, compassion, and agency at root + restore.
