meet the founder

A black woman psychotherapist supporting Black women.

welcome. i'm taylor, a licensed psychotherapist + board approved clinical supervisor in the state of Maryland, and founder of root + restore.

over the years, i’ve refined my clinical practice to offer a dedicated space for women who are ready to do the courageous work of returning home to themselves. the work centers on the tender, yet rigorous process of building a grounded sense of self, deepening your relationship with your body, and developing attunement that allows you to live from the inside out rather than the outside in. this often means that we work collaboratively to trace the relational patterns that have quietly shaped how you see yourself and your place in the world. anxiety, depression, self-abandonment, imposter syndrome phenomenon, the weight of racial stressors, i.e. visibility pressure, microaggressions, the loneliness of being the only one or one of very few - we may touch on it all.

my approach is integrative, trauma-responsive, culturally sensitive, and person-centered. you are the expert on your own life. we get comfy, we drop the pretenses, we laugh, we cry, we curse sometimes. we do the messy, beautiful work of healing together.

i strive to create a space that’s brave, not perfect. your autonomy will be honored and your whole self is always welcomed.

whether you're seeking therapy, supervision, or simply a space to reconnect with yourself, you are welcomed to explore healing with curiosity, compassion, and agency at root + restore.
